  • About The Role and Person

  • Empower people. Change lives.

At Capel Manor College, we believe education is about more than gaining qualifications – it's about creating opportunities, building confidence and helping people achieve their career ambitions.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Employability Coach to join our Employer Skills, Innovation & Growth team, supporting learners across our London Talent Pathways and Skills Bootcamps programmes.

This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference. You'll work directly with adults from a wide range of backgrounds, helping them overcome barriers to employment, develop the skills employers are looking for and progress into meaningful jobs, apprenticeships or further learning.

If you're passionate about coaching people to succeed and enjoy seeing others achieve their goals, we'd love to hear from you.

    About the role

As an Employability Coach, you'll support learners throughout their journey into employment, providing one-to-one coaching, delivering engaging employability workshops and helping individuals build the confidence, skills and behaviours needed to secure sustainable careers.

Working closely with employers, curriculum teams and external partners, you'll prepare learners for interviews, support job applications, coordinate recruitment activity and ensure learners are ready to take advantage of employment opportunities generated through the College's employer network.

You'll also contribute to the successful delivery of the London Talent Pathways programme by supporting participants to achieve positive employment outcomes and ensuring programme performance targets are met.

Every learner's journey is different, making this a rewarding and varied role where you'll see first-hand the impact your support can have.

    What you'll be doing

    • Deliver one-to-one employability coaching tailored to individual learner needs.
    • Facilitate engaging workshops covering CV writing, interview preparation, applications, digital job searching and workplace skills.
    • Support learners to identify career goals and develop realistic progression plans.
    • Help participants overcome barriers to employment through coaching, mentoring and signposting to specialist support.
    • Prepare learners for interviews, assessment centres and employer recruitment events.
    • Work closely with employers and the Employer Engagement Team to match learners to suitable vacancies and opportunities.
    • Support participants on London Talent Pathways and Skills Bootcamps to achieve successful employment outcomes.
    • Monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records and contribute to programme reporting.
    • Attend employer events, recruitment fairs and networking opportunities across London.
    • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams and external partners to ensure learners receive a joined-up support experience.

    What we're looking for

You'll be passionate about helping people succeed and able to motivate individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.

You'll ideally have experience in employability, careers guidance, coaching, recruitment, welfare-to-work, education or skills provision and enjoy building positive relationships with learners, employers and partners alike.

Most importantly, you'll be empathetic, organised and committed to helping people realise their potential.

    Why join Capel Manor College?

As part of our Employer Skills, Innovation & Growth Directorate, you'll play a key role in delivering innovative employment and skills programmes that are transforming lives across London.

You'll work within a supportive and ambitious team, receive ongoing professional development and have the opportunity to contribute to high-profile programmes that make a lasting difference to individuals, employers and local communities.

In return, we offer a competitive salary, generous annual leave, Local Government Pension Scheme membership and a rewarding role where your work has a genuine social impact.

If you're ready to inspire confidence, unlock potential and help Londoners take the next step in their careers, we'd love to hear from you.
