An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College and we are now seeking to appoint a practical instructor who will support the teaching staff within the range of floristry and event management courses. Main responsibilities will include receiving, maintaining and preparing the equipment and fresh materials for classroom based practical activities as guided by the teacher. This is to include the safe return of all equipment to the store / fridge in a clean and satisfactory condition.
Supporting the provision with practical demonstrations and technical instruction to students in a wide range of floristry and event management courses. Assist with the supervision of students to include work experience and volunteering particularly around peak periods of the industry. Assist with the assessment of students’ practical abilities. Ensuring that all requirements and regulations relating to health and safety are adhered to at all times. Ensure that the health and safety of students are maintained whilst undertaking practical sessions.
We are now looking for a practical instructor to join the team with experience in floristry and event management. The ideal candidate will have a passion for floristry and events and for instructing and sharing their experience and knowledge. They will provide high quality demonstration on the College’s floristry and event management courses and ensure the effective learning of students being taught. This will involve preparing and delivering stimulating lessons, setting goals that stretch and challenge all students, monitoring and assessing student progress, giving feedback and consistently demonstrating the positive attitudes, values and behaviours which are expected of students.
