An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College and we are now seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Functional Skills (Maths/English)/Additional Learning Support
The role involves supporting apprentices studying for their Maths and English functional skills qualifications. This will involve preparing and delivering stimulating lessons, setting goals that stretch and challenge all students, monitoring and assessing student progress, giving feedback and ensuring that apprentices are ready to take their functional skills assessments. Further to this, the successful candidate will also deliver additional learning support 1:1 with apprentices for whom we have identified an ALS need
The ideal candidate will hold a relevant teaching qualification and have experience of teaching functional skills or GCSE Maths and/or English. They will be enthusiastic, adaptable and have a drive to provide excellent teaching. They will have experience working with learners of all abilities and excellent communication skills. As many lessons are delivered remotely, experience providing effective online learning is essential.
While applications from experienced lecturers are welcome, formal teaching experience is not necessary. We also look for individuals with a passion for their subject and a desire to share this with others. If you think that you can develop intellectual curiosity and create a love of learning, we would like to hear from you. Full training and support will be provided to those without formal teaching experience. This includes a comprehensive induction programme, ongoing support from an experienced Lecturer and the College will cover the cost of studying towards a recognised teaching qualification.
